A suspect was apprehended early Tuesday soon after allegedly robbing a Las Vegas Strip gaming assets, according to the Las Vegas Metro Police. The on line casino was determined as The Cosmopolitan — and the holdup took spot at a casino cage, the Las Vegas Evaluate-Journal claimed.
In a statement, a Metro spokesman did not specify which gaming venue was the scene of the holdup. He did affirm the robbery took position at a casino in the 3700 block on South Las Vegas Boulevard. The Cosmopolitan is found at 3708 South Las Vegas Boulevard.
A suspect is in custody in that scenario,” law enforcement spokesman Misael Parra advised Casino.org midday Tuesday. More information on the robbery were being not launched by Metro police, with the situation still underneath investigation late on Tuesday.
In an e mail assertion sent to On line casino.org, a spokesman for The Cosmopolitan reported, “We can confirm an incident happened this early morning at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
“There ended up no injuries. We are working carefully with regulation enforcement officers and have no additional remark pending completion of the investigation.”
The statement provides the “safety and security of our guests and employees continues to be of the upmost priority.” The casino referred additional inquiries on “the incident” to the Las Vegas Metro Law enforcement.
Police initially got the call about the robbery at 6:45 am. Various law enforcement vehicles were seen at The Cosmopolitan right after the report was received by the department, the Review-Journal claimed.
Earlier Crimes at The Cosmopolitan
In an unrelated incident, The Cosmopolitan was the scene of a stabbing in April. A person person was stabbed during a battle involving numerous males at the hotel-casino.
He experienced cuts on and in close proximity to his shoulder and arm, law enforcement mentioned. He was taken to a regional medical center for medical procedures and other health-related therapy.
The incident commenced as an altercation among the a group of adult men. Chris Okoronkwo, 33, was later charged with attempted murder, assault, and battery with a fatal weapon in link with the incident.
Also in April, Windy Rose Jones, 23, was billed with two counts of felony grand larceny for allegedly stealing a $37,000 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch from a guy on Feb. 21 at The Cosmopolitan. She was also accused of stealing a $45,000 Rolex Daytona check out from a unique gentleman on March 24, also at The Cosmopolitan.
The incidents were being thought to have been prostitution-similar, the Assessment-Journal documented.
Beefed Up Safety in Oct
